Movies from YouTube and Google Play are no longer available on Movies Anywhere

If you’ve signed in to your Movies Anywhere account in the past few days, you may have noticed that some titles are missing from your library, especially content purchased from Google Play and YouTube. As of October 31, movies from either platform will no longer be available on Movies Anywhere.

The change was announced on Brief help page on Movies Anywhere, which simply states: “As of 10/31/25, Google Play/YouTube will no longer participate in the Movies Anywhere program.” There are no further details about the reasons behind the separation. It appears that movies that are already synced with Movies Anywhere from your Google account can still be accessed, but new purchases cannot be added to the platform.

Google did not respond to a request for comment. Disney, which owns Movies Anywhere, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Movies Anywhere supports syncing with Google Play Since 2017allowing you to watch movies you purchased from Google Play or YouTube in the same place as movies from other services. This support ended on the same day Many Disney-owned channels have gone dark on YouTube TV due to the ongoing contract renewal dispute. Fortunately, you can still watch Google Play Movies on YouTube or Google TV.
