MLS 2026 kicks off this weekend with a new setting on Apple TV

This is also the last year that the league will run its games from spring through fall, because starting with the 2027-2028 season, MLS will switch to a summer-to-spring schedule in line with the European leagues.

Sunday Night Soccer continues on Apple TV this season, but MLS is offering something new: the Walmart Saturday Showdown and expanding with EverPass. From now on, all MLS matches will give viewers the opportunity to see sideline reports in Spanish and English, as well as on-site pre- and post-match coverage.

What is the Walmart Saturday showdown in MLS?

MLS programming on Saturdays will feature a slate of games throughout the day, but the launch of the new Walmart Saturday Showdown will include additional features. One regular season game is highlighted each week from Saturday’s lineup, starting with LAFC vs. Inter Miami on Saturday at 9:30 PM ET (6:30 PM PT). During a press preview earlier this month, MLS and Apple shared what’s in store. “We will have enhanced production across Apple and MLS platforms,” said Seth Bacon, executive vice president of media at MLS. “We’ll be focusing on some of the testing we did last year with ‘Shot on iPhone’. We’ll have ‘Shot on iPhone’ at every Walmart Saturday Showdown match. We’ll capture the speed, we’ll capture the behind-the-scenes moments, and we’ll capture the fan interactions.”

Apple and MLS announced a partnership this season with EverPass Media, which distributes live sports programming to local venues like bars, restaurants and hotels. When and where are 2026 MLS matches broadcast
