Microsoft finally has a better-looking Run dialog for Windows 11

Microsoft is finally updating the design of the Run dialog box in Windows after more than 30 years. The fixed launch prompt looks more like a modern launcher, but works exactly as it always did. The Run command has been part of the Windows operating system since Windows 95, allowing power users to run applications using shortcuts such as “mspaint” for Microsoft Paint, “calc” for the Calculator, and “dxdiag” for the DirectX Diagnostics Tool.

If you’re not a fan of the overhaul, you’ll also be able to toggle the Recent Launch dialog on and off in Windows 11’s Advanced System Settings. Microsoft hasn’t officially announced this Recent Launch prompt, but I expect we’ll see it officially appear in builds in the coming weeks.
