Microsoft 365 experienced an outage, preventing access to emails and files

The ongoing Microsoft outage prevents enterprise customers from accessing Microsoft email inboxes, files, meetings, and other cloud services.

The technology giant said in a Share on X At approximately 2:30 PM ET, the outage was caused by “part of the service’s infrastructure in North America not processing traffic as expected.” Microsoft did not provide specific details about the cause of the outage, but said it was “working to return the infrastructure to a healthy state for recovery.”

Microsoft said On its status page The outage affects its Exchange Online email service, searching files within SharePoint Online or OneDrive, and creating conversations or meetings or adding members in its video meeting platform, Teams.

The outage also prevents administrators from accessing their Microsoft Purview and Defender XDR security dashboards and admin centers.
