“Marty Supreme” has a release date on HBO Max


Best Picture Oscar nominee Marty Supreme arrives on HBO Max in one month. Directed by Josh Safdie and starring Timothée Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa Azion, Kevin O’Leary, and Tyler Okonma (aka Tyler, the Creator), the sports drama is set in the 1950s and centers on Chalamet’s table tennis player Marty Mauser, who “goes to hell and back in search of greatness,” according to an A24 synopsis.

While he did not win any OscarsThe Ping Pong Saga received nine nominations, including Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Original Screenplay. In addition to Marty Supreme, HBO Max subscribers will eventually be able to stream A24 films like The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, and The Death of Robin Hood, starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer, as part of a renewed deal.

Marty Supreme will premiere on HBO Max in the US Friday 24 April.
