LG is preparing to Take the covers off the new robot She claims to be able to perform a “wide range” of household chores. The robot, called LG CLOiD, will debut at CES next month, featuring articulated arms and five individually operated fingers on each hand.
LG says its CLOiD motorized arms work with it Seven degrees of freedomindicating a more human-like range of movement and flexibility. Along with the chipset integrated inside LG CLOiD’s “head,” the robot comes equipped with a display, speaker, camera and sensors designed for voice interaction, “expressive communication” and navigation. It also features LG’s “Affectionate Intelligence” technology previously described As an AI-powered technology designed to “better understand and empathize with customers.”
With CES just a few weeks away, we’ll have to wait a little longer to see what the rest of CLOiD looks like (and whether we’ll finally get a robot that can take out the trash for us).
