LG introduces W6 Wallpaper OLED TV with ultra brightness

LG unveiled its latest wireless TVs in Consumer Electronics Show 2026W6 Wallpaper TV, which is only 9 mm (0.35 in) thick and has significant gains in both color and brightness.

The 4K TV features a new OLED design, which the company says is 3.9 times brighter than traditional OLED displays, and includes Brightness Booster Ultra and Hyper Radiant Color Technology.

LG appears to have taken strides to reduce glare in 2026 and says the W6’s “reflection-free” TV has the lowest reflection among LG TVs, and this should improve viewability in bright rooms. The typical trade-off for similar systems is that black levels can be reduced when the lights are on, though at the show on CNET LG showed off a demo that purportedly showed less reduction in dark areas.

The TV, available in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes, features a wireless connection box that houses inputs and can be placed up to 30 feet away. However, the TV still needs to be plugged into a power socket.

As with previous high-end models, the TV comes with a comprehensive gaming suite that includes a 4K 165Hz refresh rate, G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium, and a 0.1ms pixel response time. The W6 also has wallpapers and AI features for people who like to tinker.

Despite its name, the Wallpaper doesn’t roll into a tube but is a revival of the Wallpaper TV, which was discontinued in 2020. The company says it has improved the wall mount, which allows the TV to sit on the wall edge-to-edge.

In years past, the previous M Series was almost identical to the G Series, just with the addition of a wireless box.

Last year, I named Samsung S95F Editors’ Choice for image quality, and with these improvements — especially the glare-free coating — LG’s W6 appears to be taking the fight to its main competitor.

Pricing and availability have not yet been revealed.
