John d’anna joins CalMatters as his next managing editor

John D’anna joins Calmatters as a managing editor during the 10th anniversary of the news organization.

Most recently, he was the managing editor at Press Democrat in Santa Rosa, directed national awarded fire restoration projects, death with dignity, clean energy and corruption of the government.

D’anna inherits Vicky Hadok, who joined Calmatters in her second year 2016 and was the first managing editor of Calmatters. Hadok retired to spend more time with her family, but she will continue to lead Calmatters in an consultative role.

D’Anna will direct the award -winning team of journalists who conducts daily operations while working directly with five editors of tasks and other leaders at Calmatters.

Previously, D’anna worked in the Arizona Republic.
