After the story was published in the New York Times, Gus, Ozier and about three dozen other people updated their LinkedIn profiles to list their affiliation with the Bezos project. Many of these people also work at Foresite Labs.
Details about Prometheus are still limited. Its founding date, official name, and headquarters have not been publicly determined. But a dinner hosted by Bajaj in June provided further evidence.
At least two other special guests that night, including former Nvidia senior research scientist Kamiar Azizzadenichelli, quietly joined Prometheus early this year, their newly updated LinkedIn profiles show.
Ashish Vaswani and Jacob Ozkurit, former Google researchers He co-authored a famous research paper on artificial intelligenceand ended up not being able to attend dinner. But both are now founding advisors to Prometheus while running their own startups, according to LinkedIn data and a person familiar with the matter. None of the researchers responded to requests for comment.
Built for speed
Uzair founded General Agents last year, and the San Francisco startup released its first technology last April. Ace is described as a “real-time computer pilot,” in which it takes over a computer and performs actions based on user prompts. It’s part of a class of tools that the AI industry calls computer agents, which can automate everyday tasks on a laptop that span across different applications.
A demo video from the launch shows Ace downloading a photo from Google and sending it to someone via iMessage in less than 15 seconds.
How Ace fits into Prometheus’ plans remains a mystery. New releases from Ace continue to be released recently this month, according to General data From the general agents. The company’s website and job postings remain online, and a team leader in India who helps train Ace has joined Prometheus, according to their LinkedIn profile.
Harsha Abeygunasekara, Co-Founder and CEO It was completedwhich makes a competitor to Ace, says it learned about the General Agents acquisition from an investor in Ozair’s startup. The deal was a mixed bag for Donely. Some potential investors are happy that a respected competitor may be off the board, while others are wary of taking on Bezos if Ace becomes an important part of what Prometheus is developing.
“There is something important for Prometheus to acquire the entire company,” Abeygunasekara says. “What General Agents figured out early on was speed, where Ace runs on your computer at the speed of light. We’ve been working on that for six months and we’re not there yet.”
