Beyond human power Mail gets more AI with new AI Compose and Ask AI features. It aims to reduce useless emails while making important messages easier to handle, whether you’re setting reminders or crafting the perfect response using generated AI.
Superhuman markets itself not just as a mail client, but as a customer AI-powered productivity tool. Available for desktop and mobile, it is intended for workers and collaborative professionals.
I wanted to know if Superhuman’s new features take effect, because it’s not the only product that will use your information this way. Furthermore, I was interested to see if this was a product I could see myself using for my own productivity, in a professional setting or not.

Writing with AI features smarter draft generation
Superhuman Mail was really good at creating drafts with it Writing using artificial intelligence featurebut the latest updates bear more heavy burdens. It can now pull information from other emails you’ve sent or received, add availability based on your calendar and do an online search for you.
The new features don’t just bring a new flow to your routine — it’s all built into the way you normally write a draft in Superhuman Mail.
You asked the feature to draft an email to inform the recipient of the meeting you had later in the day and suggest a time to meet afterward. I did not provide any information other than the first name of the person I was interviewing. The “AI Type” feature went to work by pulling information from my calendar appointment, and crafted a response according to my instructions. I followed up to ask him to make the draft more casual, as if I were writing the email to a friend, and this created a less formal response that I could see myself sending to a friend.
To test Write with AI’s web search features, I also asked him to add some suggestions for coffee shops where we could meet. They needed to be open during the evening in the Mission District of San Francisco. “Writing with AI” has been added to three strong recommendations. Going a bit further, I also asked to add cross streets for each café, which I did without a problem.
This is the final draft of the AI writing created for me.

If you’re someone who drafts your emails on the go, Write with AI is available in iOS and Android apps.
If you’re worried about handing over a lot of your sensitive data to a company to handle your communications using AI, you’re not alone. Superhuman told CNET that it does not train its AI models on user content, nor does it allow third-party service providers to train their models on user content.
New Ask AI features
Ask artificial intelligence It’s a central hub where you can ask questions, create drafts, and easily view information based on past emails and your calendar. You will now find it in a dedicated sidebar on the left side of the desktop application for easy access by simply clicking on the “?” key on your keyboard. Mobile users can tap the “ai” icon at the top of their inbox.
Superhuman says Ask AI conversations can be valuable reference material, so you’ll now be able to access your chat history. This history of your conversations will make it easier for you to jump into the chat to get the information you need, without having to ask the AI the same question again.
In a much less difficult test, I used Ask AI to create an email similar to the one I used in the AI writing experiment. The results were almost identical, but this time, it was clear that the Ask AI was pulling information from previous emails instead of a calendar event you created. In addition to the time period of the meeting, the test email included the full name of the person I was meeting with, as well as the purpose of the meeting, all of which was included in an email I received two weeks earlier. I was touched.
The more advanced versions of Write with AI and Ask AI are exclusive to the Business and Enterprise plans, but a standard version of Write with AI is available in the Starter plan for desktop and mobile.
