I want to be more Buddy Workout than the Camp Cam


I expected, and I hope that Apple will launch a kind of healthy feature that works in Amnesty International Apple Watch in WWDC 2025But Buddy exercise was not exactly what was going on in my mind.

I am the type that spoils any and all surprises by reading the last page of a good mysterious novel, or a summary of Netflix Whodunit before I crossed the pilot. So I entered WWDCThe annual conference of developers, after reading each RumorsI feel very confident because I knew most of what would have come Watchos 26A more intelligent healthy application with artificial intelligence training that can transform all my fitness standards into meaningful guidelines.

What we have already got through Apple’s WWDC KEYNOTE It was a little different … and this is not necessarily a bad thing. Instead of Annan’s launch to flood general training suggestions or unwanted advice (such as caffeine restriction windows, which should not be present in my vocabulary), Apple intentionally conservative with approaching artificial intelligence on the watch, testing water with a friend of exercise and setting the basic work of more national tastes.

What is the experiment of friends?

Buddy is supposed to be a trial to be a coach (at least not in the traditional sense). It will not train you on the marathon race or draw a four -week plan to reinforce Vo2 Max. What you will do is to work as a voice in your ear, as it provides encouragement during exercise based on previous fitness data. Think: “This was the fastest mile ever,” or “I just crossed 500 miles for this year.”

For some people, this type of confirmation may be sufficient to continue paying forward. But I am the type that flourishes in the structure and cruel love. I must point out that I have not tested Buddy exercise, but from what Apple offered it, Buddy will not try it to me – at least not yet. I already rely on the pace and alerts of the heart rate to inform me when I retreat. What I really need is a drilling coach who takes care of me, so I can focus on my steps and breathing and anything that carries me podcast via Mile Four.

What does the exercise companion mean for the future?

What Buddy does technically impressive exercise, combining exercise with health information and converting this into a conversation voice that gives you a dedicated conversation. It proves that Apple has both data and processing power to analyze real -time training and convert these data into a meaningful thing. It is the first step towards the most responsive and smart Apple Watch experience not only follows your fitness, but it helps you actively improve it.

It also provides a window in the broader Apple strategy for Amnesty International on the watch. Whether it’s because of the hardware restrictions (Buddy depends on Apple Intelligence, which requires iPhone 15 or the latest communication with the watch) or just Apple being Apple (cautious, first user and studied), and the result is a feature that feels carefully studied instead of rush and half. It does not cry out unwanted advice or drowning users in confusing measures. It is dipping the toe in the training, not diving in Hedverest.

Now that the foundation is present, it seems to be a matter of time only before we get a real health coach working for Amnesty International.

And if this voice assistant is the beginning of something more intelligent and more educational, can it expand to other health areas as well? I was not a fan of sleeping. But perhaps, if I have the right incentives or comments, I will get on board. The new VITALS app is already doing a proper work in marking the signs of early disease, but imagine a pre -emptive sleep coach tells me that my room is very hot so that we cannot sleep deeply. This is the type of data paid to encourage I will already listen to it.

Currently, Buddy Workout is limited to eight types of exercise: running, walking and external walking, outdoor cycling, HIit, functional strength, and traditional training. It will arrive in September with the Watchos 26 update – along with a handful of other features that you can read here.
