The Ridge Wallet is two pieces of metal surrounded by an elastic band and screws. There are additional accessories (more on those in a second), but the general premise is a sleek, stylish container for the necessary cards you need to keep. It can hold up to 12 cards, and you can tighten or loosen the metal “sandwich” using the included Torx screws and screwdriver. You’ll use your thumb to distribute your cards, pull out what you need, and then when it’s time to put the card back in, you’ll insert it into the top of the sandwich. I keep my ID and debit card on the outsides of the stack for easy access, though it’s not too difficult to fan them all out (and you can always adjust the tension if necessary).
Once I got used to this fan-and-sandwich process, it was hard to imagine anything else. I don’t want to go back to the good old days of my wallet stuffed inside my overburdened purse, searching through endless receipts to try to find my Costco membership card or something.
Ridge wallet is Customizable modulesalso. There’s a money clip on the outside that can hold a few bills comfortably — I wouldn’t try to hold more than four — and all the elastic straps and screws are replaceable. You can swap out different parts, like the front panel or money strap, and add items like a coin tray, track card, or wallet chain (which I use and really love). So your basic wallet will always have room for cards and some cash, but you can spend more to customize the experience even more.
There is also a MagSafe version Of this wallet, which I have not tested, but my own Fellow reviewers who tried it did so. Ridge sells other everyday carry products such as Key holders also. I’m considering purchasing it with my own money, because the only real problem I have with this wallet is that it doesn’t leave much room for life.

I think a lot about An account of girls carrying shirts on Instagramwhich documents the ways in which women adapted to their lack of usable pockets. I really always carry a variety of nonsense. When I try to mitigate my tendency to hoard by reducing the size of my wallet, I still stuff it to the gills and then end up carrying things in my hands anyway. The Ridge Wallet is great for keeping track of my essentials, especially with the accessory chain so I can always pull it out of my bag. But that doesn’t leave me much room to feel completely free from the burdens of my spoils.
