Honor Magic V5 foldable phone It was only launched last summer, but the company is already back with its latest model. The Magic V6 is another book-style foldable device that I got Mobile World Congress 2026. It packs a bunch of technology into a surprisingly thin body for a foldable phone, and is set to go on sale in the UK and wider Europe in the second half of the year. It will likely hit shelves in the summer, like its predecessor.
Honor is yet to announce pricing for the phone, but the previous V5 has gone on sale in the UK for a whopping £1,699. I certainly don’t expect the V6 to be any cheaper, but I hope it doesn’t see a huge price increase. Honor phones are not officially available in the United States, but their price in the United Kingdom is approximately $2,285.
The 7.95-inch internal display looks bright and bold.
So what do you get for your money? Well, design is where a lot of that money is spent. At just 8.75mm thick when closed, the V6 is one of the thinnest foldables ever. It actually shaves 0.05mm from its predecessor, and you’re unlikely to notice that difference at all. Opened up, the phone is only 4.1mm thick, but it still feels sturdy for the time I’m using it.
The hinge feels sturdy, with a satisfactory amount of resistance when opening and closing. Honor says it made the hinge out of aerospace steel, making it 87% stronger than a car’s structural brace. It’s also one of the first foldable phones to be rated IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance. This means that reading e-books on the sandy beach or taking photos in the rain is no problem with this thing. It’s rare for foldable devices to be waterproof to this extent, as most hinged mechanisms are difficult to make watertight.
I love this red and gold color. The vegan leather material has a soft, textured feel.
Honor also says it has improved the hinge to produce less frizz. It’s hard to judge exactly how well this worked when I looked at it briefly on a Barcelona street, but I certainly didn’t think the crease was overly obvious in the sunlight. I’ll reserve judgment for when I can see it side by side against rivals like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, so expect amazing performance on par with other phones using the chip, including OnePlus 15 and Xiaomi Leica Letzphone. It also has a 6,600 mAh carbon silicon battery that should give you enough power to get through a full day of use. Camera specifications include a 50MP main camera, a 64MP telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. It remains to be seen how well these images are captured.
It’s a skinny thing.
It will run Android 16 at its core, and you can expect a wealth of AI functionality on board, both Honor’s own additions and Google’s like Gemini Live and Circle to Search. It will also have deeper integration with Apple MacBooks, including the ability to use the phone as a second display for your computer and drag-and-drop file transfer between devices.
