I got to see them in action, along with the new FreePower laptop charging device at KBIS in Orlando. A charging aura is a glowing ring of light that is projected through a stone countertop when touched by a human hand. It is used to illuminate the active charging area, showing users where to place their devices.
I did just that, and within seconds, my phone lit up and indicated it was working.

FreePower has debuted a more powerful version and Qi adapters that let you charge laptops and smartwatches, as well as phones.
Before 2026, the technology was only able to charge phones (25 watts), but the more powerful 65 watt version, coupled with a small self-contained adapter, allows laptops to be charged. A second countertop adapter allows smart watches to be charged.
