When you create an event, the calendar will now display suggested meeting times based on participant availability, work hours, and current commitments. If invitees later decline or conflicts arise, Gemini can ask the organizer for a new recommended time directly within the event, allowing the meeting to be rescheduled without leaving the calendar.
This feature builds on Google’s broader Texture campaign Generative artificial intelligence Dive deeper into its workspace tools, turning routine tasks like scheduling, drafting, and summarizing into automated assistance.
Calendar already uses AI for features like smart event creation and time insights, but this update gives Gemini a more active role in managing changes after a meeting is created.
Google said the new meeting suggestions are being rolled out gradually to eligible Workspace users, with wider availability expected in the coming weeks.
