Google Photos will finally be available on TVs next year, starting with the upcoming integration for Samsung TVs. Samsung announced That the planned integration “will seamlessly bring the photos people take on their phones to Samsung TVs, where they can appear in a more cinematic format,” and that it wants Google Photos to be “deeply woven into the TV experience.”
There is currently no native TV app for Google Photos, even on the company’s Google TV platform, though Samsung’s announcement did not specify that this new integration will be launched as a dedicated app. Samsung says it first aims to bring the Memories feature that displays curated collections of photos and videos to Tizen-powered TVs in March 2026, which will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months.
This launch will be followed by Google Image Search and Creative AI image features in the second half of 2026. The “Create with AI” option will provide themed templates Built on Banana Nanoand Image creation and editing features using artificial intelligenceincluding Google Remix and Image to video tools. “Personal results” will allow users to view a slideshow of their photos based on themes or content, such as “ocean,” “hiking,” or “Paris.”
Samsung expects the integration to be easy to set up, as it requires users to sign in on their TV with their Google account to automatically view photos saved in Google Photos. While Samsung aims to be the first to launch these Google Photos features, other TV providers will likely follow once the Memories exclusivity agreement expires.
