Google announced on Thursday It is expanding the reach of its experimental research model, Genie 3to her AI Ultra subscribers. The experience allows users to create and move through 3D worlds.
Google gave the world a Genie 3 glimpsed in August It was opened to users participating in the Trusted Testers Program. Now, Genie 3 will be available on the highest tier of the Google AI subscription plan, limited to users ages 18 and older.
Google calls Genie 3 a general-purpose global model that allows users to create dynamic worlds that can be navigated in real time. Seeing demos in action is like creating a video game on the fly.

Google breaks down the Genie 3’s functionality in three ways.
Draw the world: Using text prompts and uploaded images, users can craft a world as they see fit, along with the character who will navigate it. You can choose how the character navigates the world, whether that’s walking, flying, or something else, and you can also select the character’s perspective, such as first-person or third-person.
Explore the world: As your world builds, Genie 3 will chart the path forward in real-time based on your interactions and movements. You can also adjust the camera view and angle as you navigate through the world.
world Remix: Google will allow users to remix worlds by building on the prompts it has created. Genie 3 offers a curated gallery of worlds to choose from. You can then download videos from your world explorations.
Since Genie 3 is still an early beta, it’s not without some limitations.
- The worlds created may not appear exactly life-like or adhere exactly to user prompts.
- Some characters created to navigate worlds may be less controllable than others, and some may have higher control latency.
- Restrictions in generations to 60 seconds.
Google says Project Genie will expand to more regions in “time.” For now, unless you’re a Google AI Ultra subscriber or part of the Trusted Testers program, you’ll have to wait until the trial expands to more people.
