Google announced on Wednesday that it is making AI mode more accessible on mobile. Users will now be able to access AI Mode, which allows users to ask complex questions and follow-up to dive deeper into a topic directly within a search, via a new dedicated shortcut button below the search bar when opening the New Tab page in Chrome.
The new shortcut for Chrome’s AI mode will launch in the US starting Wednesday and will soon reach 160 new countries and other languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and more.
By making AI mode more accessible on mobile, Google is likely hoping people will use its service instead of turning to competitors’ tools.

The launch of the new shortcut comes as Google recently expanded its AI mode globally, bringing the feature to 180 new countries. The technology giant also made this feature available in More languagesincluding Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Brazilian Portuguese.
Google launched for the first time AI status in March To take over popular services like Perplexity AI and ChatGPT Search from OpenAI. Since then, the tech giant has constantly updated the tool with additional functionality.
