Google has shut down its dark web monitoring service that looked for data breaches to get your information

We are discontinuing the Dark Web Report, which was intended to scan the Dark Web for your personal information. It will stop monitoring new results on January 15, 2026, and its data will no longer be available as of February 16, 2026. While the report provided general information, comments showed that it did not provide useful next steps. We’re making this change to instead focus on tools that give you clearer, actionable steps to protect your information online. We will continue to track and defend you against online threats, including the Dark Web, and build tools that help protect you and your personal information.

On February 16, 2026, the report will no longer be available and all relevant data will be removed. If you want to remove your monitoring file beforehand, you can learn how to do so here.

In the meantime, we encourage you to use the existing tools we offer to enhance your security and privacy, including Security & Privacy Tests, Passkey, Two-step verification, Google password managerand Password check.
