Goodbye Booms: Jabra’s new Evolve3 headphones drop the mic

In the past, Jabra has marketed its Evolve headphones more toward businesses than consumers. But as more people turn to hybrid or… Work from home environmentsthe dynamics of the professional headphone market have shifted to the point where the Danish brand has made a major design decision for its new headphones Evolve 3 85 ($649) and Evolve 3 75 Headphones ($463): Ditched the booming microphone and designed the new models to sound like the typical premium model Above the ear and On the ear Headphones.

Scheduled to ship on March 1, the two models offer nearly identical specs and performance, but the Evolve3 85 has larger ear cups and is an over-ear model, while the Evolve3 75 is an on-ear model (the Evolve3 85 also has slightly better battery life).

Although there’s no flexible microphone to bring the microphone closer to your mouth, according to Jabra, the new models are able to clearly pick up your voice while significantly reducing background noise thanks to the ClearVoice system that combines “deep neural network technology and Jabra’s multi-microphone algorithms.”

The warm gray model will arrive on April 1, while the black version is scheduled to ship on March 1.

Combined with the streamlined designs and comfortable fit, Jabra promises that the headphones are as good for everyday use as good headphones for listening to music and watching movies. It features active noise cancellation and comes with either a USB-C or USB-A Bluetooth dongle for computer use.

Battery life seems impressively strong, and Jabra touts the ability to replace the headphone batteries and earbuds to extend the life of the headphones. This is a plus considering that both headphones are fairly expensive, exceeding the price points of premium noise canceling headphones like Sony WH-1000XM6 And the second generation Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones.
