apple Announced tons of new technology This week, from iPhone 17e To the new fast MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chipsets. quite, Affordable MacBook Neo He made the biggest splash. The 256GB model starts at $599, while the 512GB model costs $699.
But let’s be realistic. We’re all talking about new colors. With silver, blush, citrus, and indigo all on the table, we polled the CNET crew to find out which color actually wins the Miss Office contest.
Silver came dead last. It makes sense, since this is Apple’s default color, and most of us are looking for a techno flare. Despite the low-key sounds of standard silver, I’m sure the classic look will sell well. It’s predictable, but also clean and fresh.
Among CNET staff, the other three colors got more love, with Citrus and Indigo clearly beating out the competition.
From top to bottom, the MacBook Neo comes in red, silver, indigo, or citrus.
Managing Editor Josh Goldman said citrus was a favorite in New York Apple event. But he personally isn’t a fan: “It’s yellow-green. I don’t care for it.”
Senior copy editor Sarah McDermott also chimed in, calling citrus “the worst of both worlds.” McDermott chose blush, as did Goldman, which he described as “subtle, changing from silver to pink, depending on the lighting.”
Senior editor Lori Gronin wasn’t a fan of citrus either: “Take the green out of the yellow. Also, of the colors, I like pink the best, but I think all-pink devices are ugly.” If Gronin buys a MacBook Neo, she’ll choose indigo.
Indigo moved forward to get the most votes, and for good reason. It’s a soothing shade and reminds me a lot iPhone 17 Pro In deep blue.
Senior Editor James Bricknell agreed that the citrus color in Neo is more like a not-quite-ripe lemon, not the bright yellow, but he still likes citrus best out of the lot. He added: “For full disclosure, my iPad is also yellow. It’s simply the most fun color Apple makes.”
The citrus is my favorite of the four as well, and Bricknell and I agreed that the indigo is probably our second favorite. Although I’m not a fan of pastels in general, I have to say that the blush pink is a beautiful color.
It’s pretty clear that silver is the worst.
In the end, Indigo came in first place, receiving 38% of the votes. Citrus was close behind at 35%. Blush received a respectable 23% of the vote. Silver registered a meager 4% in total.
Personally, I miss the days of bold, bright colors. Everything has been washed out and pastel-dyed for years, as if brands only want to be Lacroix colours.
I want the red Kool-Aid back. I’ve been a big fan of the (red) product range, and would have liked the new releases to include some bright, saturated shades – and I’m not alone in this camp.
Social media manager Faith Chihil wants the infamous transparent iBooks to make a comeback. Goldman noted that the days of Apple’s plastic laptops and desktops are likely over. Senior writer Jeff Carlson jumped in and agreed, saying, “Yes, but what about transparent aluminum? (It’s real now!).” now this an idea.
