Vivo’s flagship phones X300 and X300 Pro It was launched in China just two weeks agobut they’re getting an international release faster than we’re used to from Vivo. The company announced today that both phones will go on sale outside China, including a few European countries, and will bring with them OriginOS – the Android operating system that was previously only available in China.
OriginOS It first appeared in China Back in November 2020 and it is now at version 6.0. For reasons best known to itself, Vivo has so far kept Origin in China, leaving international buyers to use the older (and dingily-named) Funtouch OS. It was never a pleasure to touch, with a lackluster design, relatively basic features, and often extensive bloatware.
OriginOS is relatively colorful and elegant. This version has been updated with a more customizable lock screen, including depth effects and basic widgets, along with a “Dynamic Glow” design that features more than a little Liquid glass To her. Still, it’s a welcome upgrade.
In Europe, the X300 Series will be available in Austria, Spain, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Italy. The X300 starts at €1,049 (about $1,200), with the Pro available for €1,399 (about $1,600).
