Facebook can animate your profile picture using artificial intelligence

Facebook is rolling out new AI features that let you animate your profile photo and redesign Stories and Memories. You’ll also be able to add animated backgrounds to text posts to make them stand out in the feed.

With animated profile pictures, you’ll be able to animate a still photo using some preset animation types, including Natural, Party Hat, Confetti, Wave, and Heart. Meta says. Meta suggests using an image in which a single person is facing the camera with a visible face and holding nothing. More animation options will be added “throughout the year.”

To redesign Stories or Memories, you can tap the Redesign button and type in the changes you want Meta’s AI to make to the image or choose from predefined Meta options, such as “anime” or “low-poly.” To spruce up your text posts with new animated backgrounds, as you draft a post, look for the A icon above the rainbow background to pull up a list of different background styles to choose from, including animated and static options.
