Facebook and Instagram are adding a new center to help recover stolen accounts

Dead on Thursday Announce It’s launching a new central support center for Facebook and Instagram, recognizing that getting help wasn’t always as easy as it could be. The space will bring together all the support features that users of both networks need to report account issues or recover a feature they lost access to.

“Getting help with your account should be simple and accessible,” the company explained, adding that it recognizes that “support does not always meet expectations.” The update is rolling out globally to users of social media platforms on iOS and Android.

Meta said it’s also working on an AI assistant for “immediate and personalized assistance” with things like restoring your account or updating settings. Initially, this will only be available to Facebook users, but Meta said it is “exploring the possibility of bringing it to our other apps in the future.”

Since the hub is accessed through the Facebook or Instagram apps, it’s not clear how useful it is if you’re already blocked from accessing it. Meta said it is working to improve the account recovery process, using artificial intelligence to make it easier to find the right recovery options and help the company better detect devices and locations where you’ve used apps in the past.
