Two Premier League sides, both struggling with injuries, will need to dig deep into their reserves today when Aston Villa host Newcastle United in an exciting FA Cup fourth round tie.

Villa currently ranks third in the English Premier League, and reached the semi-finals of this tournament last season. But the injury list, which includes John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara, Youri Tielemans and Matty Cash, means that there is a problem with the selection of coach Unai Emery in today’s match.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe will likely be hoping a deep run in the cup will help make up for what has been a disappointing league run so far for the Magpies. Stranded in mid-table, the unsettled visitors come into today’s game on the back of a morale-boosting 2-1 away win in midweek over Tottenham.

However, this victory came at a cost, as Newcastle’s inspirational captain, Bruno Guimarães, suffered a hamstring injury, while fellow Brazilian star Joelinton also remains a doubt for this match with an ongoing groin problem.

Aston Villa faces Newcastle United at Villa Park Saturday 14 February. Kick off is set for 5:45 pm GMT Local time in the United Kingdom, which is 12:45 PM ET or 9:45 AM PT In the United States and Canada, and 4:45am AEST In Australia early Sunday morning.
