Capable of cleansing Robot vacuums Not a new concept. There are many of them on the market, from simple vibrating mop pads to rotating brush head types. Recently, we’ve seen a lot of spin mops with a brush system that self-cleans with fresh water while mopping. Eufy’s new affordable Omni C28 is typically found on high-end models, bringing the price per roll of the brush up to $800.

What’s new with Omni C28
The Omni C28 brush roller should not get tangled with pet hair or human hair.
Eufy’s C series tend to be the company’s mid-priced models, while still offering a good balance of premium features. The $700 Juve Omni C20 (currently on sale for $350), for example, offers an all-in-one base station and an ultra-thin 3.35-inch body that can fit under low furniture. However, it has the more traditional spin mop rollers, with 180rpm and 6N of downward pressure.
However, for those who are not familiar with these types of brushes, high-end robotic vacuums are moving towards brush mopping, as they provide better cleaning and mess removal. In addition to the new mop type, the big difference with the C28 is the larger 10.7-inch mop drum, which Eufy says is the longest in its price range.
The C28 has a suction capacity of 15,000Pa for vacuuming in addition to its mopping capabilities.
The mop drum self-cleans with clean water nine times per second, which the company says is the highest in the industry. There is also an internal scraper that takes the waste water out of the drum and moves it to the dirty water tank. The cylinder supports 10N of downward pressure, up from the 6N you get with the C20.
The vacuum brush barrel features useful technology, including DuoSpiral brushes with built-in comb teeth to prevent tangles from pet and human hair.
Specifications and features
The C28 comes equipped with lidar technology and has object avoidance and mapping capabilities. We’ll test it in the CNET lab.
Other specifications and features are fairly standard. The C28 has the iPath 2.0 laser navigation system, which includes lidar detection, the ability to avoid objects and recognize home layouts. It can cross thresholds up to 20mm high, and the spin mop lifts up to 10.8mm when it detects carpets to keep them dry.
The C28 comes with a suction power of 15,000Pa and should work to remove dust, pet hair, crumbs and other debris across various surfaces such as hardwood floors, tiles and carpets.
There’s an all-in-one base station that Eoffee says allows for 75 days of hands-free maintenance. He has to clean the mop, remove dust, refill the water tank, collect the waste water, and dry the mop rollers with hot air on his own. The company says the four-air channel system results in 25% faster drying.

The Eufy Omni C28 will cost $800 at launch, but you’ll get a $200 discount if you pre-order by Thursday. The first 200 orders also receive an accessory kit, extended warranty and Eufy Plus membership. In the US, it will be available through both Yuffie and Amazon
