Instagram I made the comment a little less serious. The next time you leave a comment on a post and later realize it contains a typo or an inappropriate emoji, you can simply edit it instead of deleting it.
The Meta-owned social network announced the new feature on Thursday, but you’ll need to catch the bugs pretty quickly if you want to fix them. According to the social media giant, you can only edit your comments within 15 minutes after they are posted. There is no limit to the number of times you can edit it within this time frame.
Editing comments is very simple. Using the Instagram app on my device iPhoneI added a comment to a post and saw the “Edit” option clearly visible in the comment itself. I made the changes I wanted and clicked the blue check mark to let the world see the perfect version of my comment.
When you edit a comment, its edited status is visible to others, but they cannot view the version history. If your comment includes text and an image, you can only edit the text. You can edit comments in the Instagram iOS and Android apps, but not on the web, and you can also edit comments on content in Instagram Reels.
If you still decide that you want to clear your comment from the map, you can delete it by Tapping it and holding it. You can also delete other people’s comments on your Instagram posts.
Instagram is testing a lot of new features, though several premium features are planned to be included as part of the paid subscription service. Paywalled features being tested in several foreign markets include highlighting one of your stories each week, previewing stories without appearing as a viewer, and extending your stories for 24 hours.
