England, led by Thomas Tuchel, continues its preparations for the 2026 World Cup with an interesting friendly test at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday against Japan, the dark horse of the tournament.

The match represents England’s final friendly match before Tuchel announces his 26-man squad for the World Cup next. Friday in a 1-1 draw with Uruguay. The Three Lions will be without Arsenal trio Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke who have all returned to their club for a ‘medical assessment’, while Manchester City defender John Stones has also withdrawn from the squad.

They host a Japanese side who have easily qualified to reach this summer’s tournament, with Samurai Blue going into this match on the back of an emphatic 1-0 win over Scotland in Glasgow on Saturday thanks to Junya Ito’s late goal.

England will meet Japan at Wembley Stadium in north London Tuesday 31 March. Kick off is set for 7:45 pm GMT local time. This makes it 2:45 PM ET or 11:45 AM PT Beginning in the United States and Canada. For viewers in Australia, the match starts on 5:45am AEST On Wednesday morning.
