Dyson has transformed its slim PencilVac into a lightweight wet floor cleaner

Dyson has announced a replacement version Skinny PencilVac It is designed to clean up spills and stains on hardwood floors rather than absorbing dirt and debris. Like the PencilVac, which Dyson called “the world’s thinnest vacuum cleaner” back when it was Announced nine months agothe new PencilWash squeezes your battery, motor and other electronic devices into its 1.5-inch diameter handle. But it replaces the dust bin with a water tank housed in the larger cleaning head, which features a single drum for cleaning the floor.

At 4.9 pounds without water or low-foaming cleaning solution in its tank, the PencilWash is a little heavier than the four-pound PencilVac, but it’s also a little cheaper. The PencilVac is $600 for the version that includes four rotating conical brush heads, while the new PencilWash is $349, including the charging stand for the handle portion.

Specifically designed to clean hard floors such as tile, laminate and textured wood, the PencilWash features a pressurized humidification system to provide fresh water which the high-density microfiber drum uses to clean surfaces and then collects dirty water afterwards. Don’t leave floors completely dry, but dry enough that any remaining moisture evaporates quickly. And unlike Dyson’s larger floor scrubbersthe PencilWash’s pivoting handle can lie almost completely flat to reach under furniture.

Battery life is estimated at over 30 minutes on a full charge, which matches the PencilVac at its lowest power setting. If that’s not enough time to clean all the floors in your luxury property, the battery at the end of the PencilWash handle can be replaced with a backup that can be purchased separately.
