‘doctor. Seuss’s The Sneetches’: This is where you can stream cartoon specials

Dr. Seuss’ timely tale of empathy and acceptance has a new animated musical adaptation, with The Sneetches released this week Netflix.

First published in 1961 as part of The Snitch and Other Stories group, the original book tells of a group of yellow, bird-like creatures called Sneetches, some of whom have green stars on their bellies and some of whom do not have green stars. Their divided society refuses to socialize because the Star-Belly Sneetches believe they are better than the Plain-Belly people.

This special focuses on two little snitches named Stella and Pearl – one with a star and one without – who prove through their friendship that kindness and understanding are more important than any mark on the belly.

This latest special from Irish animation house Brown Bag Films is the third exclusive Dr. Seuss-inspired animated film to appear on Netflix, following the release of Red fish, blue fish and Horton Dr. Seuss!both of which arrived on the streaming service earlier this year.

This animated show is available to stream on Netflix starting today, Monday 3 November.

Seuss’s The Sneetches is available to stream exclusively on Netflix with any plan.
