Cloud code is down due to a major malfunction

Anthropic’s Claude AI models saw a major outage today, impacting products like Claude Code. Developers were seeing error 500 when trying to use Claude Code and Anthropic He said It was seeing high error rates in its APIs “across all cloud models.”

Anthropic quickly identified the root cause and implemented a fix within about 20 minutes, but developers relying on the tool were still staring at their screens waiting for the service to come back online. Claude Opus 4.5 also encountered some bugs yesterday, and earlier this week Anthropic had to fix purchase issues with its AI credits system.

It’s unusual to see Cloudcode experience a major outage like this, especially since the service is widely used by developers, including… Microsoft’s artificial intelligence teams.
