ChatGPT launches its end-of-year review like Spotify Wrapped

ChatGPT is releasing its own version of Spotify Wrapped. This means the OpenAI-owned chatbot is now rolling out an annual review feature called “Your Year with ChatGPT” to eligible consumers in select markets, including the US.

Other English-speaking markets that can access the new offering include Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

At launch, the feature will be offered to those with Free, Plus, and Pro plans who have the “Bookmark Saved Memories” and “Bookmark Chat History” options turned on and have met the minimum conversation activity threshold, the company told TechCrunch via email.

Team, Organization, or Education accounts will not be able to use the “Your Year with ChatGPT” feature. Additionally, the experience is supposed to be “lightweight, privacy-aware, and user-controlled,” the company noted.

Similar to other yearly reviews offered by consumer apps, “Your Year with ChatGPT” is inspired by the popular year-end look, Spotify Wrapped. Like the Spotify feature, OpenAI uses attractive graphics and personalizes the experience to the individual by awarding “prizes” based on how you use ChatGPT over the course of the year.

For example, you may be awarded a “Creative Debugger” award if you use a chatbot to come up with solutions to a problem or work on a concept or idea.

Although the Year-End Summary will be promoted on the ChatGPT home screen, it will not be forced on users or open automatically.
