This summer, Calfatters celebrates its 10th year since the publication of reliable, non -partisan journalism, which is essential for millions of Californians who want to know what is happening in their country. For 10 years, Calmatters made Dogged digging, necessary to hold the powerful responsible and give a voice to the silent. And of the crucial importance for this decade of storytelling, the story of California tells of photos and illustrations. Calmatters visual journalists and freelancers have captured a full range of experiences in the gold state: from state lawmakers to non -smoking, from Mexican border to Oregon, from times of celebration to disturbed grief and emergency situations. Each part of the Calmatters journalism builds a stronger connection between the community and our government: from public records and quotes to words, visualizations and interactions between data.
