The Specialized 700-watt motor feels natural — sometimes to an annoying degree, since the bike is designed to be able to pedal and you won’t go faster than 10 mph just on the throttle. Also, there is no dual battery option. However, the battery exceeded the Specialized’s rated range of 60 miles. Granted, I’m a small person, but I usually had at least one other person on the bike with me at all times, so I still found this cool.
It’s easily adjustable – my 5’10” husband and my 5’2″ husband were able to turn the ride off, which is important if this is your family’s all-purpose hauler. The screen is intuitive, and the buttons are well spaced so you don’t get confused or end up pressing buttons. Also, Specialized accessories go a long way toward making this bike more useful. Yes, you can mount some Home Depot buckets to the front of your bike and drill holes in their bottoms for them to drain, but Coolcave Baskets ($90) They are more attractive, easy to use, and useful for transporting everything from children’s dioramas to dozens of mini soccer balls.

The vast majority of people I know who buy a cargo e-bike with their own money choose the Lectric XPedition2. There is no better value for a long tail electric cargo bike with a dual battery. Lectric has also gone above and beyond the box to make its bikes and accessories easy to assemble and use. You can even insert the pedals instead of using regular threaded pedals.
The specifications of this bike are also wild for the price. It has a 1310 watt rear hub motor, twice as powerful as the Globe Haul’s already powerful motor. (It contains the accelerator pedal and is Class 2 e-bike Out of the box, though you can use the screen to unlock the capabilities of the 3 Series and assist up to 28 mph.) It has hydraulic disc brakes, front suspension, an incredibly large and bright color LCD screen, built-in lights, and fender flares.
