This is a better value proposition now than it was then for several reasons.

For beginners – Ultra 3 Very nice but also the upgrades are very minor. You get satellite messaging for emergencies (only useful if you go off the grid frequently or have a bad connection where you live) and a slightly better battery. This Black Friday price is also only $10 more than refurbished Apple models. And the $200 discount is a solid savings if you’re looking to upgrade from the original Ultra.
