Asus Chromebook Cx14 Review: What you get for $ 429

Like medium screen quality, the touch plate is also somewhat medium. I used worse, but its plastic surface is not soft and fast like glass. The mechanism of clicking loudly and requires a lot of effort to pressure. It is also loose, so you can press the touch plate without registration of a click. All this is common in cheap laptops, and over time, this is something I think I can get used to. But when you jump into something more installment, you will notice a big difference. The keyboard is not completely troublesome, but the keys feel more shouting than I love. There is no objection to the amazing texture on keycaps.

There is a large group of ports, including HDMI 1.4, USB-A 3.2, USB-C 3.2, USB-C charging port and headphone socket. It is well rounded, but there is a problem: they are all on one side. You will only find Kensington lock slot on the right side of the device. Unfortunately, this means that you will only be able to charge the laptop from the left side.

Just enough strength

There are two copies of ASUS Chromebook Cx14 now available. My review unit was the most expensive configuration, which comes with more of everything – the fastest central processing unit, poor RAM (8 GB), and weak storage (128 GB). The processor is Core 3 Series 1, known as Intel Core 3 N355. It is an interesting slide, using only eight cores for efficiency and there is no core for performance, compared to the dual -core traditional preparation of Cereron.

Performance is nothing to write to the home, although it was 38 percent faster in the 3.1 -residing standard index in Celeron Asus Chromebook Cx15 I tested last month. This means that web applications feel more famous and more responsive, especially when you have a lot at the same time. It is difficult to argue with the price of this cheaper composition (especially when sold), but if you intend to use CX14 for active work or study, you will be able to support performance and additional storage.

Asus claims that CX14 lasts for eight hours on charges. In my tests, it lasts for a long time. Keep in mind that this is on playing the local video with the screen in 100 Lux – not exactly a heavy load. The use of my normal work day has decreased down a little, and you definitely need to be recharged during the day. So no, this is anywhere near a long time like Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14It is also not compared to excellent laptops such as MacBook Air or Surface Laptop. But for a laptop from this price, it is decent.
