While the map was Originally released in 2024will soon be the site of a digital recreation of Artemis II’s lunar flyby right now — a complex maneuver that sent humans farther from Earth than ever before.

Aside from the in-game event, the Lunar Horizons map is an educational simulation of the surface of the Moon’s south pole.

The Lunar Horizons Fortnite map hosts the Artemis II flyby, but it’s also a great educational simulation that shares details about the work of the European Space Agency and catalogs information about human lunar research.
These three simple steps will help you run (or more accurately, make slow jumps) across the surface of the Lunar Horizons Fortnite map:

If you haven’t played Fortnite before but want to check out this limited-time event, you’ll have to download the game. If you are using PC, you can download Fortnite for Free from the Epic Games Store. Console players can navigate to the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or Nintendo eShop to download Fortnite to their devices.
