Animal Crossing: New Horizons is dropping the long-awaited update a day early

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Villagers, maybe it’s time to dust this off Nintendo Switch And back to the island. On Wednesday, Nintendo dropped the long-awaited Free Content Update 3.0 a day earlier.

The free 3.0 update includes a new resort hotel run by the family of Kapp’n, a sea turtle who takes players on boat rides. You can decorate hotel guest rooms, buy new furniture, clothes and fashion models.

You can tidy up your island using Resetti’s character reset service as well as upgrade your home’s storage space to store up to 9,000 items, which also includes the ability to keep plants and flowers in your pantry. There are also some new items available, including some classic Nintendo games keyboards. This comes as an added benefit for Nintendo Switch Online members, who can play in real life Classic Nintendo games Online when you interact with these controllers. Other new additions include Lego elements as well as characters and items from The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon games.

If you’ve got a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can try out a new addition to the game called Slumber Island, where you can design up to three new islands, save them, and play online with friends. You can build and design islands in collaboration with your friends and invite residents from your home island to visit your new creations.

To install the update, turn on your Nintendo Switch and follow the prompts, and the new update will install more or less automatically. Just a warning, if like me you haven’t played for a while, your character will need to shake sleep out of their hair, stomp all the cockroaches that have crept into their house and deal with villagers who point-blank ask where you’ve been for a year.

Company The update was announced back in OctoberBut it was not scheduled to arrive until Thursday. It’s extra fun because in 2021, the company announced that the 2.0 update, released in November of that year, would be the last major free content update.

Fortunately, Nintendo has rethought that decision, though some of us are still eagerly awaiting final news of a brand new Animal Crossing game. (with Nintendo Switch 2 Now, there’s no way Nintendo is getting off the AC gravy train, right?) A Nintendo representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
