Amazon is investing a great investment to support the new Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers in Chile.
Technological bloc Declare On Wednesday, more than $ 4 billion will build a AWS infrastructure at Data centers in Chile by the end of 2026.
The investment will go to the creation of three areas of availability, or groups of isolated data centers, in the new AWS. Amazon said it is also planning to employ and develop local talents to operate and support the region in Chile.
“The AWS South Americana (Chile) will help in the rapid service demand for cloud services throughout Latin America and in Chile with a safe, reliable and effective infrastructure,” Brasad Calenaramann, Vice President of Infrastructure Services at AWS, said in a statement. “With the new AWS region, organizations will get the ability to build using advanced AWS technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, to help accelerate growth, productivity and innovation.”
AWS already has many customers in Chile, including Latam Airlines, Agrosuper and Andrés Bello National University.
This is not the first time that Amazon has invested in the AWS infrastructure and services in Chile.
In 2021, Amazon launched AWS focuses in Chile, which helped expand the scope of access to AWS in the country. In 2023, the company granted customers the ability to benefit from private communication between AWS and their data centers or offices. In the same year, Amazon has introduced local AWS areas to help customers contact AWS services.
