Amazon Pharmacy to bring same-day delivery to 2,000 more communities in 2026


Amazon announced Wednesday that it plans to add about 2,000 new areas to its list of same-day prescription delivery locations. This would expand the delivery service to more than 4,500 locations by the end of the year.

Amazon Pharmacy was there Since 2020 It currently delivers to all 50 states and Washington, D.C. The medication delivery service serves as an alternative for those who need timely medication, live in underserved areas or lack proximity to a traditional pharmacy.

The expansion will now include areas in Idaho and Massachusetts affected by pharmacy closures and other limited access to care.

“By combining our pharmacy expertise with our logistics network, we’re removing important barriers and helping patients get started on treatment faster — setting a new standard for accessible, digital pharmacy care,” John Love, vice president of Amazon Pharmacy, said in a statement.

There are many programs available through Amazon Pharmacy, including: Rx bassWhich costs $5 per month for Amazon Prime subscribers. RxPass also allows access to people without insurance and allows them to save up to 80% on generic medications and 40% on brand name medications.

More recently, in 2025, Amazon Pharmacy introduced a Caregiver support featurewhich allows families to manage medical subscriptions for other family members. Treating health care like a family affair is gaining some traction. Fitbit’s founders recently introduced Luffu, an AI-based health tracking app It allows caregivers to keep their family’s health data in one place.

Amazon Pharmacy also has kiosks that allow subscribers to pick up prescriptions in certain clinic lobbies, and plans to expand those kiosks this year.
