Adobe announced Tuesday that its AI assistant for Photoshop is available to users in beta on the web and in mobile apps. The company is also adding new AI-powered photo editing capabilities fireflya tool for media generation and editing.
The creative tools company first announced AI Assistant for Photoshop during the MAX event in October. The feature, which is now rolling out to users, can help them remove objects or people from photos, change colors, or adjust lighting through prompts. Users can also use natural language to direct the AI assistant to add a soft glow, crop to a specific format, enhance shadows, or transform the background to give your photo a different look.
Adobe said paid Photoshop users will be able to create unlimited generations using the AI assistant until April 9, and free users will get 20 generations to start with.
Additionally, the company is adding a new feature called AI markup in the public beta, which allows people to draw marks on the screen and use an AI assistant to transform those objects. For example, you can draw a flower or mark an object to remove it to modify the background.

Additionally, Adobe is adding new image editing tools to its Firefly media creation tool. Firefly gets the generative packing, which was on Photoshop for a few years nowTo replace or add objects and adjust the background accordingly.
Firefly also gains global debuffing to remove objects, global scaling to increase image size using AI, and advanced generative features. Moreover, the company is adding a one-click tool to remove background from images.
The company said in February that it was Allowing unlimited generations for Firefly subscribers to encourage increased usage. Over time, it has also added more than 25 third-party video and photo creation models, including Google’s Nano Banana 2, OpenAI’s Image Generation, Runway’s Gen-4.5, and Black Forest Labs’ Flux.2 Pro.
