YouTube is close to announcing a new version of “Lite Premium Lite” from its subscription service, Bloomberg reports. The new layer is expected to be launched in the United States, Australia, Germany and Thailand “soon”.
The level will allow users to access the PodCast Library in YouTube and the guidance clips without ads, and note Bloomberg. Premium Lite will be targeted towards viewers who mainly want to watch videos other than music videos.
It is not known how much the layer will cost. Although the Lite Premium layer was in the test in some external markets, YouTube is preparing to put it officially.
YouTube Premium costs $ 13.99 per month in the United States and allows subscribers to see anything on the platform without ads, including music videos.
The new layer in YouTube will come amid an increasing competition between the platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts, all of which are looking to become the destination for podcast listeners.
