It’s Friday, the second full day in San Diego Comic ConAnd CNET is on site for all the events. While we eagerly await Marvel’s Hall H presentation on Saturday, we’re here to bring you trailers and release dates for upcoming movies and TV shows. Although fans did get an early round of official trailers for Clayface, Another mother and Avengers: Doomsday Before the conference, Disney and Warner Bros. Prime Video, Paramount and more studios post clips, news and the latest scoop on the premiere dates of some of their biggest titles.

Lanterns
When the teaser for DC’s Earth-heavy Lanters dropped a few months ago, it looked pretty full. There was Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan challenging John Stewart’s entitlement to carry the Green Lantern Corp ring, the desert-related conspiracy sentiments, flashbacks to John’s childhood and even a flash of Guy Gardner on screen. DC has taken over the powers of the ring, but with a new Comic-Con trailer released on Friday, things escalate when the Manhunters arrive on the planet to take down the Lanterns. Check out the Interstellar and Sinestro ports in the trailer, and get ready for the series to arrive on HBO Max on August 16.
Blade Runner 2099
After several years in the making, Blade Runner 2099 will debut on November 25 on Prime Video. The eight-episode limited series is a sequel to 2017’s Blade Runner 2049, and stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, with Sheila Atim, Kaitlyn Rose Downey, Dimitri Upload, and Daniel Rigby among the cast.
The film is set in an alternate version of Los Angeles, where replicants run things and humans play a secondary role, The series sees Yeoh’s replicant Olwen hunting down outlaw replicants who have gone missing. With her own shelf life on a ticking clock, the stakes are high for her and her human partner on the run, Cora (Schaffer).
The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, Season 3
Remember all the talk in The Lord of the Rings trilogy about “one ring to rule them all”? Well, Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power will be all about that. These episodes take place five years after Season 2, and Sauron’s war with the Elves appears to be going strong, and he has expanded his power across the majority of Middle-earth. Now all Sauron has to do is craft that pesky ring so he can rule them all.
Jamie Campbell Bower joins the cast as the elven lord Celeborn, husband of Galadriel and a noble warrior in the fight against Sauron. This season will also introduce the Nazgnagôl, known as the Ringwraiths, in an early form of the corrupt Ringbearers in the story. The new season premieres November 11 on Prime Video.
Coyote vs. Peak
The film was previously shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery, an animated-meets-live-action thriller picked up by Ketchup Entertainment, will open in theaters on August 28. After Wile E. Coyote grew tired of Acme’s unreliable products, he decided to hire a lawyer and sue the company. Will Forte stars as Kevin Avery, who represents Coyote in his case, with John Cena as Buddy Crane, an Acme corporate consultant. The film also features Lana Condor along with a host of Looney Tunes characters like Porky Pig, Tweety, Foghorn Leghorn, and Granny (who hit the anvil).
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Season 3
A host of new gods and demigods are set to descend on Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, including Aphrodite and the Children of Hades. The new eight-episode installment will premiere on November 20.
Back in January, Disney Plus gave viewers an idea of what was to come when it showed off a scene of Percy (Walker Scobell) and Annabeth (Leah Savva Jeffries) hitting the dance floor at the middle school dance. But things get a little darker and more dangerous this time for the children of Camp Half-Blood.
Based on the third book in Rick Riordan’s series, The Titan’s Bane, this season takes Percy and his crew on a rescue mission to save the goddess Artemis (played by Daphne Keen). Viewers will be introduced to the titan Atlas (Holt McCallany), Annabeth’s human father (Jesse L. Martin), and the Olympian gods Hera (Ming-Na Wen), Demeter (Jennifer Beals), and Apollo (Hubert Smilecki). Kate McKinnon plays Aphrodite.
Ebenezer
Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con, dressed as Ebenezer Scrooge for the upcoming film, in which he plays Charles Dickens’ legendary miser. The film, scheduled to hit theaters on November 13, also stars Rupert Grint, Ian McKellen, Daisy Ridley, and Sam Claflin in a star-studded cast.
Avatar: Seven Havens
From the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender, this new series follows the legend of Korra and follows a pair of twin avatars, one of whom is Korra’s successor. Being a harbinger of destruction during a time when the spirit world and the material world are out of balance, Buffy – and her sister Nisha – will need to look to the past to discover their identity and find a way to save the Seven Havens. The animated series will premiere this fall on Paramount Plus.
Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO
Kenji Kamiyama is directing the new anime film from Sola Animation, which will serve as a sort of prequel. Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO is set approximately 100 years before Gundam Rogue Orbit, breaking down the origins of the world that fans know. Guided by Kamiyama’s vision, the 2027 film will also tie into the world of video games.
