The new Philips smart toothbrush shows you where you’re not brushing properly

The latest addition to the Philips Sonicare smart electric toothbrush range can take the guesswork out of your brushing routine. the Next generation DiamondClean 9900 Prestige It uses a third-generation AI model to provide real-time feedback on how you’re brushing through a glowing ring on its base, while the touchscreen highlights areas of your mouth that might need more attention when you think you’re done.

The next generation Sonicare DiamondClean 9900 Prestige is expected to launch in Europe and the US this fall, with a wider global rollout in 2027. Pricing has not been announced, but Previous versions sell for $430 You can expect this new product to be more expensive.

The toothbrush’s touchscreen allows you to scroll through eight cleaning modes, including Gum Health, Maximum Clean, and Sensitive options. To help ensure you don’t press too hard while brushing and cause damage, the glowing ring at the base of the brush changes color to indicate when you need to be a little gentler. But the 9900 Prestige also uses pressure sensors to adjust its intensity when you press too hard so the bristles are easier on your gums.

The touchscreen also displays what Philips calls a mouth map that represents your teeth and gums in 12 different parts highlighted in blue or orange to indicate how effectively you are brushing. The 9900 Prestige tracks its movements in your mouth as you brush and areas it deems need extra attention glow orange so you know exactly which areas you need to target during the second pass.
