Ninja has added everything from ice cream makers to double-deck toaster ovens to its wide range of products Anti-clogging devicesBut it’s only now introducing its first microwave. What makes the new Ninja Crispi Microwave stand out among many of its competitors is that it can be used as an air fryer. After heating your food with microwaves, you have the option of switching to superheated air so the results are crispy rather than soggy, with the ability to replace two kitchen appliances with one multitasking appliance. It’s available starting today through SharkNinja online store For $449.
It comes with a range of standard microwave presets including popcorn, defrost, frozen dinner, and even a setting for softening butter. Instead of a turntable, the 1,000-watt Crispi microwave features a flat design inside that Ninja claims provides 40 percent more usable cooking surface compared to a traditional microwave. You can pop two bags of popcorn in there, and its design should be easier to clean.
Once the food is heated enough, the microwave switches to air fryer mode, which has a variety of its own presets including air bake, max crisp, and air broil. To ensure air heated to 450°F circulates throughout your food for a crispy finish, the air fryer mode relies on a 5.5 liter glass container with an insert that allows air to circulate underneath your food. This container has enough capacity for an 8-pound Ninja Chicken, and it comes with two lids: one for storage and a vented one for steaming vegetables.
