Plex issues prevented users from streaming movies and shows

Plex services had some major issues on Tuesday, with several users reporting issues Plex Forums and On Reddit. Many people use Plex as a way to stream shows and movies they host locally, but users are upset that current issues are affecting their ability to do so.

“Basically all Plex devices are broken unless you can play locally over LAN and even that takes a long time and doesn’t always work,” One user said. Others reported problems matching content on their servers. For me, the Plex TV site was loading slowly, although as I was initially writing this story, it started loading more reliably.

Plex has confirmed there are issues with the company Status page Originally, I noticed issues with live streaming of movies and shows, plex.tv API, Discover Together, and program guide data for live TV. The issues lasted about a few hours. Now, the page says that Plex is “fully functional.”

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Update, July 14: The issues appear to have been fixed.
