SpaceX is on track for record-setting Starlink deployments

SpaceX is currently on pace to set last year’s record-setting Starlink satellite deployments. SpaceX has launched 1,589 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit in the first half of 2026, according to launch data compiled by SpaceX. 2025 was already a record year for SpaceX, with the company deploying a total of 3,180 Starlink satellites. SpaceX has launched more than 12,400 Starlink satellites since the constellation’s inception, with nearly 11,000 of them still operational.

To put these numbers in perspective, Amazon’s Leo startup has only deployed about 400 satellites over the past year. 15 monthsis on its way to a planned total constellation of 3,232 satellites. In other words, SpaceX’s reusable Falcon 9 rocket can deploy one Leo-sized satellite internet constellation per year.
