You can now remix your Google Photos and turn them into stylized videos with Gemini Omni


If you have a bunch of photos in your Google Photos library and don’t know what to do with them, now you know.

On Wednesday, Google introduced a new solution Video remix feature in Google Photoswhich lets you instantly transform, relight and restyle your videos into shareable artwork using AI templates. Video Remix uses Google Gemini Omni Model for Artificial Intelligence To filter images, change lighting, or add a different background to an existing video. The company said it’s a way to “create stylized and creative memories from a library of easy-to-use templates.”

Gemini Omni, which was introduced at Google’s developer conference in May, can create drawings and videos from your prompts. Although there are many competing AI tools at our disposal, this one might help us do something creative with the thousands of images we have stored away.

Instead of creating something from scratch, it isolates subjects to transform boring backgrounds, applies cinematic lighting to fix bad exposure or turns your personal clips into 3D animations, watercolors or graphite-looking sketches. It’s specifically designed to be accessible to everyday users who can rely on its “one-click” AI template library to handle the heavy lifting automatically.

Google seems to be positioning Video Remix as a premium AI feature, and cloud processing of these advanced video edits is lagging behind the bounds of use. Initially, the feature is only available to adults 18 or older who subscribe to one of its AI plans — Google AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra — in select countries like the US, India, Japan, Mexico, and South Korea.

The feature is available in Create a tab for Google Images, with several templates to help you get started.

Google’s Gemini AI photo and video models are competing to lure users to paid AI subscriptions. Competitors, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta, continue to add AI imagery and Create video and edit features for their offers.

This week, Meta A New photo editing tool On Meta AI, Instagram and WhatsApp are called Muse Image, which is designed to handle more complex requests, create photo montages, and edit existing images.
