Solos has debuted a lighter version of its cameraless smart glasses

Solos announced a new version of its AirGo smart glasses, which dispense with cameras for a sleeker design and an artificial intelligence assistant that relies on voice interactions. Last year’s AirGo A5 weighed 36 to 40 grams depending on frame style, but the new AirGo A6 weighs about 19 grams. Pricing and availability for the new AirGo A6 have not yet been finalized, but the smart glasses will support “full prescription lens compatibility” and will come in multiple styles including clear options that reveal the electronics inside. The glasses come with a host of hands-free AI-powered features including an assistant that can answer questions through voice commands, real-time translations, and calendar reminders. With the speakers behind your ears, the AirGo A6 can also be used to listen to music or answer calls while still being able to hear what’s going on around you.

Alongside the new A6, Solo also announced new privacy-focused accessories for its AirGo V2 smart glasses It debuted last year. This includes $39 transparent, unsupported replacement bodies in various colors and a mounted privacy shield that prevents the V2’s camera from actually seeing anything.
