Nothing is disrupting the brand for its cheapest phones, after the Phone 3A Lite released last year with the new Phone 4B. Combining design elements 4A and 4A Proit follows previous cheap phones produced by Nothing in skipping the US market.
The company is already using the ‘A’ brand to market its cheaper product category, and the first ‘B’ phone is another tier below that. 4B appears to replace the naming convention used last year Phone 3A Lite.
In terms of design, it borrows a bit from the 4A phones, which were launched in March this year. It’s similar to the uniform look of the 4A Pro, although it’s now made of plastic instead of metal, but pairs that with a ‘duplicate’ version of the Glyph Bar notification LEDs seen on the regular 4A. The 4B will be available in white, black and blue, and carries an IP64 rating to protect against dust and water.
The specifications are typical for a budget phone. Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor The phone is paired with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. The 6.77-inch display is a 120Hz OLED display, but the cameras look basic: a dual rear camera with a 50MP OIS main sensor; And very broad with no precision included. The battery is more than just a highlight, as the 5,200mAh capacity – 6,000mAh in India – makes it nothing bigger yet. The phone comes with Android 16, and nothing promises that it will get three years of OS updates and six security patches.
While the Phone 4A Pro is on sale in the US, the 4B follows other cheaper Nothing phones in limiting its launch to the UK, Europe and India. It will cost £299/€329 (about $400) when it launches on July 17, an increase of £50/€80 over the similarly specced 3A Lite. Launch has joined him $99 for 3A earbudswhich in contrast is getting an American release.
